Pre-School
Pre-school is an early childhood education program designed for children before they begin formal schooling. It provides learning and recreational activities that help develop social, emotional, physical, and cognitive skills in a fun environment. Children between the ages of 3 to 5 years old are qualified for admission and participation in the program activities.
Nursery 1Â – Should be at least 3 years old.
Nursery 2Â – Should be at least 4 years old.
Kindergarten – Should be at least 5 years old.
Elementary
Elementary education is the first stage of formal learning for children aged 6 to 12 years old. It focuses on basic academic subjects like Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. It also helps children develop social skills, good behavior, and positive values as they prepare for higher levels of education and future learning experiences.
Grade 1 to Grade 6Â – Age requirements for Grade 1 should be 5 years old in June of the current school year.
Junior High School
Junior High School is a stage of education for learners aged 13 to 16 years old. It prepares students for Senior High School and college or university. It focuses on strengthening academic knowledge in subjects like Mathematics, Science, English, and Social Studies, while also helping students develop critical thinking, responsibility, and independence for more advanced studies.
Grade 7 to Grade 10 – Junior High School is for students usually aged 12 to 16 years old. It focuses on strengthening core subjects and preparing learners for Senior High School.
Senior High School
Senior High School refers to Grades 11 and 12, the final two years of the K to 12 Program. It prepares students for college, employment, or entrepreneurship by introducing subjects related to their chosen career paths. Learners develop advanced knowledge, practical skills, and greater responsibility as they prepare for higher education and future professional opportunities in life.
Strengthened Senior High School (SSHS) Curriculum
Ville St. John Academy is one of the pioneer schools in implementing the enhanced Senior High School program, providing students with quality education and specialized strands that prepare them for college, employment, entrepreneurship, and future career opportunities.
